DandyLion, a neighbor here at Community First! Village was born in North Carolina in 1978. She was taken from her birth mother at 18 months and placed in foster care until she was adopted at age four. Because DandyLion is autistic, she often finds it easiest to explain herself to others through rhyming. DandyLion is transgender and has been homeless most of her life. As an outcast in society, her devout Christian faith helped her cope with the frequent cruelty of others.
